Nola Roleplay

Management
Management
Whitelisted
NOLA Roleplay strives to maintain a serious roleplay atmosphere. We strongly encourage all members of the community to read the Server Guidelines in its entirety. Failure to adhere to the implemented rules and regulations will result in a consequence depending on the severity of the offense.

Common Rules
  • OOC (Out of Character) talk is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated under any circumstance.
  • Being toxic, or breeding toxicity in any platform (this includes twitch, reddit, discord, etc) can have you removed from the community at any point in time.
  • Your character needs to have a realistic name and must not break TOS.
  • Players must follow Twitch.tv Terms of Service (TOS) at all times. Click here to view them.
  • The community must also adhere to Discord’s TOS at all times. Click here to view them.
  • Voice Activation is not allowed. All players are required to use Push-to-Talk to RP in NOLA.
  • We will enforce a strict code of conduct within our community and take immediate action on items at that distasteful such as:
    • Harassment, sexual harassment, excessive name calling or shaming, targeted attacked on a personal level, etc.
    • Leaking personal information of another person or making threats.
    • Speaking on the IRL deceased.
    • Intimidating players from playing on the server or continuously harassing them in-game for OOC matters.
  • To simplify, respect one another; have justification and reasoning for your actions. Merely stating, “it’s my character”, is not an acceptable response.
  • Revenge reporting is not allowed, but staff is required to see POV from all parties involved. If any rules are broken in the provided clips, all parties will receive punishments.
  • Staff and server disrespect will not be tolerated, under any circumstance.
Consequences: Any Class Depending on the Situation [Class A - Class D] - or Removal from the NOLA Roleplay Community

Interactions
  • Sexual, torture or extremely gross roleplay only if all parties involved (participants and witnesses) have agreed to it in and out of character prior to the roleplay being performed. The scene(s) must not take place in a public setting or open area.
    • If at any time you feel uncomfortable with the roleplay, you are allowed to void the scene and remove yourself from the roleplay.
    • Scenarios such as rape and non-consensual touching are strictly prohibited.
  • Rule violations by other players should not disrupt the ongoing roleplay. If an issue arises with a player during a scene, please submit in-game or in the discord server.
  • To roleplay in this server, it is essential to have clipping software.
    • Submitted clips for evidence should be at least a minimum of 120 seconds, to show part of the beginning, middle and end of the roleplay. Additional clips are accepted as well to support your report.
  • Stream sniping is strictly prohibited. If you are found trying to meet someone via stream sniping, you will be permanently banned and unwhitelisted from the server.
  • Players may take pictures with their phone using the emote, and they may also record with their camera. The camera may pick up audio if the player is in range to hear the audio (not through walls/glass etc).
  • It is mandatory that all players remain in character unless an Administrator says otherwise.
    • Local OOC should only be used if you have been instructed to break character.
  • Players are prohibited from voiding roleplay or any scenario unless directed by a Game Admin or Lead Adminas a result of a report.
    • A scene cannot be voided without following the appropriate procedures through the chain of command.
    • All players may not cut off interactions between you or another player unless a Lead Admin+ states otherwise. You must follow all Administrator instructions.
  • All reports submitted through Discord and/or in-game, must maintain a professional tone from all parties involved. Engaging in arguments or contributing to unnecessary toxicity within reports is strictly prohibited. It's important to remember that reports should be submitted promptly.
  • Wearing a mask is only allowed when you are actively engaged in criminal activities.
    • It's important to note that if a police officer requests you to remove your mask, you are to comply. If you are caught still wearing the mask by an officer, the officer has the right to search and detain you.
  • When roleplaying with police officers and not directly involved in the situation, it is prohibited to physically transport or relocate the individuals who are being detained away from the scene.
  • During the last and first 15 minutes of a scheduled server restart, you are not allowed to rob, shoot or kill. This will result in an immediate ban.
  • Any inappropriate roleplay with minors will result in a permanent ban from the server.
Consequences: Class C or D Depending on the Situation

Admin Discretion
  • When a player's actions or general conduct negatively impacts another player's roleplay experience and/or undermines the realistic roleplaying atmosphere we strive to create on the server, admins have the authority to punish that player for violations not covered by the guidelines below.
  • Admins have the full ability to punish players for scenes where terrible roleplay is represented and the use of forums is not necessary - only if the situation matches this.
Consequences: Class B or Class C

Common Courtesy
  • All players should treat others with respect. You’re not allowed to break the rules because someone else did. You shouldn’t disrupt, stall or void roleplay unless an administrator tells you too. Examples:
    • Quitting the game to avoid roleplay (combat logging) - Automatic ban.
    • Repeatedly refusing to roleplay / Avoiding roleplay
    • Bugs, Dsync issues are to be roleplayed out.
    • Assets are to not be transferred without approval by Administration.
    • Homophobia, Misgendering, and Targeted Hateful remarks are strongly prohibited, and will not be taken lightly.
    • Insulting another player through Out of Character chat of any form. (Forums, Discord, Etc.)
    • Disregarding an administrator's decision or ignoring their messages.
    • Failure to roleplay a car crash, unless caused by desync and voided by an administrator.
    • Purposely being away from keyboard to avoid roleplay.
    • Properties should be sold at realistic prices, players should not be adding hundreds of thousands of dollars for no apparent reason.
    • If you come across a bug or exploit on any of our services you’re required to report it. Exploiting it and using it will result in a permanent ban and it’s your obligation to report rule-breakers as well.
    • Do not attempt to purchase/sell weapons/drugs through the in game “Yellow Pages” application, this is very subpar and will result in punishment.
Consequences: Any Class Depending on the Situation [Class A - Class D]

Metagaming
  • Metagaming is defined as using out of character information in character. Inciting someone else to metagame is also against our server guidelines and will result in a ban. Examples:
    • John Doe reads something from out of character chat and roleplays knowing that in-character.
    • Jane Smith reads something from a twitch chat and roleplays knowing that in-character.
  • Using out of game communications like Discord, Skype, etc. to communicate in character is strictly forbidden. If you are found to be metagaming, appropriate action will be taken by a Game Admin+.
Consequences: Class C

Powergaming
  • Powergaming can be defined as performing acts that are not human-like; forcing roleplay on others without giving them a fair chance; making up things which did not happen so that you can benefit; roleplaying things which are not possible script-wise so that you can gain an unfair advantage. Examples:
    • Talking/Organizing/Calling out locations while downed.
    • Finding the quickest way to make money, rather than roleplaying around the mechanic.
    • The use of /me and /do should be used as much as possible to help aid your scenarios.
    • Driving at unrealistic speeds with no character reason over and over.
    • Going from land to water in an active PD Scene
    • Selling drugs on the highway, underground, and in tunnels is power gaming.
    • Casually wearing a mask and gloves while not on a drill.
Consequences: Class B

Deathmatching
  • Killing another person without sufficient roleplay reason (deathmatching) is not allowed. Unnecessary provoking falls under this rule as well. Terrorism is strictly prohibited.
  • Vehicle Deathmatching (VDM) - Purposely using your vehicle to harm or kill another player. This does not mean every time you are hit by a vehicle that it is Vehicle Deathmatching, but if it matches the description, then the rule was broken and should be reported immediately.
  • This also includes revenge killing — when you respawn after being executed and then kill (or at least attempt to) the person who has just murdered you. Your character’s memory is wiped of everything that led up to your death when you are killed, so you should forget about your attacker. Examples:
    • Attacking another player/group without any story/roleplay leading up to it.
    • Attacking another player/group using a Vehicle with the intent to kill/knock them out without valid reasoning or initiation.
    • John Doe has killed you over a legitimate in-character reason and you respawned without being saved by the Police Department/Fire Department so you get a gun from your house and go back and kill him.
    • You provoke a fistfight with two people who are unarmed and then you pull your firearm out and kill them.
    • You cannot provoke a situation or another player without valid reasons behind it.
    • Tackling is not allowed.
Consequences: Class A-C
New Life Rule (NLR)
  • If you’re downed and respawn at the hospital your character forgets the immediate events leading up to being down in the current scenario. A player may not return to the area of their death for at least 15 minutes or attempt to retrieve lost possessions from involved players. If you happen to Character Kill, you may not make a new character and revenge kill for your deceased character.
    • You may not respawn if you’ve been advised that police or EMS is on the way to your scene.
    • You must try and contact medical help of some sort while incapacitated. When making the EMS call, you must describe yourself in third person.
Consequences: Class B

Not Valuing Life
  • All players must value their character’s life:
    • Treat your character as you would treat yourself. Be mindful of your character's life at all times.
    • If you are being held at gunpoint, you are to do whatever they instruct you to.
    • If someone has a hostage during a situation, you must value the hostage's life as you would want the safety of the hostage.
  • Examples of when you’re not in direct danger:
    • When you’re in a vehicle and the engine isn’t stalled.
    • When you have a firearm drawn and facing the other person before they attack.
    • When the attacker’s view is obstructed by an object of when they turn their back on you.
Consequences: Class B

Roleplay with Emergency Services and The Police Department
  • You must RP injuries with EMS or they will not pick you up.
    • An example of role-playing your injuries would be John Doe getting into a car wreck and getting out of his car limping and shouting that his neck is in pain.
    • An example of not Roleplaying your injuries would be John Doe continuing to drive like nothing happened. We encourage all players to roleplay their injuries.
    • If you are caught not roleplaying your injuries, it will result in a kick or ban.
  • Depending on the injury, EMS will not treat your injury on the street or in public. You will be taken to the hospital and must RP being treated.
  • No playful killing and then expecting EMS or Admins to revive you.
  • There should be no talking while downed.
  • It is against the rules to pick up or relocate deceased bodies. Only active and on-duty members of the Police Department (PD) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) have the authority to handle and move dead bodies.
  • Taking the life of EMS personnel is strictly prohibited. It is also forbidden to steal EMS/PD vehicles or obstruct EMS staff from carrying out their duties.
Consequences: Any Class Depending on the Situation [Class A - Class D]

Abuse of Game Physics
  • Grand Theft Auto Five physics and movements in-game are hard coded and cannot be changed via scripting so the following is forbidden to avoid non-roleplay situations:
    • Bunnyhopping (i.e., jumping while running around to gain speed in a situation).
    • Spam Punching (i.e., spam clicking mouse 1 in a fight and not giving someone a chance to react).
    • Combat Rolling (i.e., rolling in a shootout, etc).
    • Olympic Swimming (i.e., swimming without roleplaying any exhaustion).
    • Abuse of jobs (i.e., spawning a job vehicle to evade police, etc).
    • Combining emotes to exploit game mechanics.
Consequences: Class A

Third Party Modifications
  • Any type of game modification or software which gives a player any type of advantage over another player is forbidden. Client side modding to give an advantage is also considered breach of the rule.
  • Client side modding may only be done for aesthetic purposes and should never be done to change the function of anything in-game.
  • This includes the following: Mods, trainers, crosshairs, tracers, unlimited stamina etc.
Consequences: Class D

Robbing and Scamming
  • Robbing is defined as taking someone’s possessions (money/items, etc) by force or threat of force. Scamming is defined as offering a good or service and then refusing to pay or give it. Robberies and scams must be strictly done in character.
    • Players are unable to force other players to withdraw money from an ATM.
    • You must always have a valid reason behind robbing someone.
    • You cannot force other players to hand over assets that aren’t present in the area.
    • Players may not scam vehicles or properties.
    • Players may scam for a maximum amount of $20,000 and nothing greater.
    • Players may not rob items from the Police Departments and Fire Department.
    • Players cannot commit a robbery while operating a luxury, high-end or sports car.
    • Players are able to rob all of the cash you are carrying on your persona.
    • Looting people who are dead is forbidden.
    • A group who splits up shouldn’t be hitting a house in 4 different areas of the map to try and spread police out just so they can succeed.
    • You cannot rob a player while they are performing a scripted job on the server, ex: garbage pickup.
    • Only tell a player to “put their hands up” or “don’t move” solely if you intend to rob them, not if you intend to kill them.
    • You may not Rob/Scam a player inside of a Greenzone.
    • You may only do up to one robbery per hour. Group robberies count together; the rule doesn't apply to just an individual; it applies to an entire group you're with. Rather you're the getaway driver or burglar.
    • You may not kill someone during a robbery unless they bring it upon themselves. Players must show value for their life and your character's life is important.
Consequences: Class A or B - Depending on the Situation.

Safezones
  • A no crime zone is an area where player(s) may not commit any crimes. If the player that you’re attacking flees to a safezone then the roleplay is allowed to continue.
    • Spawn Locations
    • City Hall, Any Government Offices, Law Enforcement Offices, Hospitals and Banks
    • Car Dealerships and the Department of Motor Vehicles
    • International Airport
    • Shopping Center/Mall - Inside Only.
    • Parking Garages and Impound Lots

    • Movie Theatres, The Arena, Bowling Alleys, The Gym - Inside Only.
    • The Casino - Parking lot included.
Consequences: Class B

Illegal Activities
  • Criminal activities are limited to 8 players total; 4 people per 1 car.
  • Relaying information to or between characters (lookouts, radio communications) counts you as part of that scenario.
  • Choosing shooters/grinders over role-players is not acceptable.
  • Whenever characters are brought into police custody and a second group of four is formed to attempt a prison break or transport break, that second group is not allowed to intervene until the prison transport begins.
    • Doing so with small weapons or an unthought out plan is also NVL.
  • During high-speed chases you are not allowed to jump off cliffs or highway ramps; this is failure to roleplay and will result in an immediate ban.
  • Gambling that involves “shooting dice” also has restrictions. Players may only bet a maximum of $25,000 per roll and may only partake in these activities with cash.
Consequences: Class B

Multiple Characters (from the same player) in one Gang/Group
  • This is not allowed. Try to avoid creating multiple characters involved in the same story/scenarios that could also use the same information to push their goals.
  • If you are character killed in a faction and would like to be a part of the same one, your new character must start off as a “Resident and/or Member” and work your way back up to Leader/High Council.
    • Failure to do so will result in a punishment, which could also lead to a faction strike, or a ban.
Consequences: Class B

Corruption
  • Giving guns out from being in the Police or Fire Department to others in the server is classed as Corruption and you will be banned for it. No warnings or exceptions.
  • Taking a large amount of money, weapons, items etc., from someone and not reporting it.

  • This is defined as trading or buying in-game items for out of game currency, which is strongly prohibited. This will result in a permanent removal from the server if you are found to be engaging this sort of activity Example:
    • Giving someone a vehicle in game and receiving payment for it OOC’ly via Paypal.
Consequences: Any Class - Depending on the Situation [Class A - Class D]

Vehicle Price Agreement
  • All vehicles sold within the server should follow this simple vehicle pricing agreement. When selling a vehicle, players are only able to add a maximum of $75,000 USD to the price from the vehicle’s original/stock price tag shown at the dealership. (This applies to all vehicles that are sold within the car dealership).
Consequences: Class B + Character Wipe
